Even I am scared of some things: Heights.
This was approx. 15 years ago, I tried walking over the Humber Bridge, but i had to turn back after about 10 mins, cause i was scared, plus i stayed in the center of the walkway near to where the cars were, because i felt a little bit better than near the edge.
Everyone always has somethings to fear and it's not a bad thing. It makes us live more carefully and know what is safe or dangerous. But don't let it control you, just seem it like an unforgettable memory.
